Real Palettes: Teal, Fuchsia and Gold Indian Wedding

Indian lotus wedding program in teal, fuchsia and gold

Sometimes it takes experimentation to land on the color palette you like.

We were working on a wedding program for an Indian wedding that originally had royal blue and gold as the main colors. A two color palette works well on invitation design. But often once the reception design begins, more colors are pulled in with flowers, table linens, chair coverings and even tableware.

So the bride came back and added teal and fuchsia to the mix and it really brought the entire design alive.

I love the results, what about you? What colors would you add to your palette to fill it out?

Sneak Peek: Indian Lotus Wedding Invitation Booklet in Purple and Teal

Posted by in In the Studio, Our Designs

Indian lotus booklet wedding invitation and cover

We are working with a couple who were having a destination wedding in the mountains. They really loved our Mexican Tile Folder Booklet and our Lotus Floral Print. So we combined the two for a new design.

We loved it so much that we’ve decided to add the design in our collection. I’m really enjoying this color palette too: teal, purple and gold. It’s bold yet elegant … perfect for a modern Indian wedding or a mountain wedding in Big Sky country.

Wedding Color Inspiration: Gold

Mexico Smiling figure

Justin and I recently spent a lovely day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Met is huge and our feet were tired. But it was so worth it to experience a world of art, including one of our favorites, the above smiling ceramic figure from Mexico.

It was created in the 7th or 8th Century, so any trace of paint is now gone. But considering the neighboring art pieces in the museum, I wouldn’t be surprised if it involved some gold. In fact we saw a lot of gold that day. And one thing became clear: Gold can be a wonderful wedding color.

Here are some less seen wedding color combinations with gold, inspired by the art of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Burgundy and Gold

Burgundy and Gold

Looking for a formal wedding palette? Burgundy and Gold has a traditional feel, and is not a color combination you see very often. It would work very well with evening weddings and sit down receptions.

navy and gold

Deep Blue and Gold

We loved these colors when we saw them! So unusual and so captivating. We could see why dying Qur’an pages this deep blue became so popular for a time.

Black and Gold

Like Burgundy and Gold, a Black and Gold wedding palette has a formal look. Yet, it has a more modern feel that can work with different types of weddings and receptions. For a sleek look use simple fonts and prints. Or add more detail for a traditional look, like with this vase from India.

cobalt and gold

Cobalt and Gold

This is a bright, exciting color palette for a bold, colorful couple. It’s well suited for a spring or summer wedding or a destination wedding at the beach.  Add some white for a fresher take on the palette and to tone it down a bit.

Emerald and Gold

A classic jeweled tone combo, Deep Green and Gold make a rich, interesting color palette. Paired with intricate prints and patterns it would give a wedding a worldly feel.

Rich Mexico Wedding Color Palette: Red, Brown, Gold and Ivory

mexican tile wedding invitation set

Sometimes the designs and formats we’ve created are just a guide.

That was the case when Heather came to us earlier this winter wanting to create invitations for her destination wedding in Mexico. We ended up taking our tile design, turning it into a booklet, and putting some custom touches on it along the way.

For an even more custom look, we created matching invitation and RSVP stamps.

I love her rich palette of red, brown and marigold on ivory paper. It’s also a great color combination for winter weddings, or to communicate warmth or a lavish wedding.

We’re really happy with how it turned out. What do you think?

{Real Palettes} Red, Purple and Gold Wedding Inspiration

Posted by in Real Palettes

Purple is a powerful, beautiful color for weddings. Depending what you pair it with it can be great for any season. And that’s what many of the couples we are working with are doing. Purple, lavender and silver; purple, lavender and gray (I hope to have photos of this last one soon!)

We have been seeing lots of red and gold for our Indian wedding stationery…but today I want to show you purple, red and gold. It’s a lush color combo. Thank you to Tanya and Colin for letting us work on their wedding invitation set.

There’s so much you can do with a purple, gold and red wedding. Here are just some ideas:

Purple Rhinestone Brooch Bridal Bouquet

Adding gold to any wedding color combo adds instant luxury. So play that up with elegant details: lace, silks, anything luxe. I love the fullness of this reception table design, it reads like old time elegance.

And for all you rockstar brides (you know who you are!), why stop at the details? Sure purple and red hair isn’t classic. But it looks a whole lot of fun, and paired with the right details can still be elegant.
